Amateur Radio at the University of Oklahoma

W5TC Member Spotlight

If the club or any of its members have something to recognize,  we will post it on this page. We are always proud of our members and our organization!

Peter Laws, N5UWY, has been a long time member and contributor to amateur radio in central Oklahoma.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelors degree in computer science, and completed his graduate studies in regional planning at the University of Oklahoma. He works as an information technology analyst in the National Weather Center, and serves as the team lead for the South Canadian Amateur Radio Society volunteer examiner team. He is a jack of all trades who knows how to fix anything- and even was a paramedic at one point! We will miss his friendship and all that he contributes to Sooner Nation when he retires to Canada later this year. Best of luck in all that you do, Peter!

Carey McCachern, N5RM, 2014-2015 president of W5TC, has been awarded several scholarships from the ARRL.  He was awarded the Tom and Judith Comstock Scholarship in 2012 and the LB Cebik, W4RNL, and Jean Cebik, N4TZP, Memorial Scholarship in 2013 and 2014.  We are so proud of him and wish him the best of luck!
